    Can you please compare this 891S to the 902S NRX+? Is there anything the 902 can do that the 891 can't and vice versa? Contemplating selling my NRX+ 902S. Mainly concerned on tip and overall power of the two rods. Thanks

    • @JoeyDiCienzo
      @JoeyDiCienzo Месяц назад

      @@zachharmon5883 i can do that for sure. I will try and shoot a short video this week and publish it for you. I would advise against selling the 902s, as it is different enough to justify having both 👍

      @JoeyDiCienzo Lol. I don't have enough room for all my rods. Trying to consolidate and find rods I can use for multiple techniques. I just sold my NRX+ NRR. The 902S is a little too stiff/powerful for Ned's for me. I have a 7'6" ML/XF St Croix Legend Elite I was going to use for Ned's and similar applications. Was hoping I could sell it and my NRX+ 902S, and use the 891S for Ned's, keitech swimbaits 2.8/3.3, hair jigs, lighter finesse crankbaits, etc?

    • @JoeyDiCienzo
      @JoeyDiCienzo Месяц назад

      @@zachharmon5883 fair enough! The main difference for me is the weight ratings: i can throw slightly heavier applications on the 902s vs. 891s. For my deeper water applications (>20') i rely heavily on the 902s. I will try to cover it all in a short, and if not, maybe the video will be longer 🤣💪

    • @zachharmon5883
      @zachharmon5883 Месяц назад

      @JoeyDiCienzo would the 891S be overpowered with say 1/4 oz swimbait head with a 3.3" keitech?

    • @JoeyDiCienzo
      @JoeyDiCienzo Месяц назад

      @@zachharmon5883 I'm sure it would work, but you run the risk of not being able to cast as efficiently (aka putting loads of power into your cast, since the rod would be maxxed out to begin with). The 3.3 keitech plastic is heavier than 1/16 oz (it's closer to 1/8 to 3/16), and adding that to the 1/4 oz head (or 4/16 oz to make the math easier) would put it slightly over the rating of the rod. That's one scenario where the 902s would be in my hands over the 891. However, the 891 would work with a 2.8 keitech or 3 sparkshad due to there being less plastic weight. This is just my opinion though!

    How is it compared to 892S? I'm cant decide between the two... I am concerned 891 wont have enough backbone for 1/4 oz finesse tubes or 1/8 oz little swimbaits, but then I like having the extra flex to cast far on 1 powers versus 2 powers..

    • @JoeyDiCienzo
      @JoeyDiCienzo 2 месяца назад

      *comparing 891s GLX to 892s IMX Pro since they're the rods i have* - I found the 891s to have plenty of backbone to drive a tube or swimbait hook at long distances from the boat. It is slightly softer than the 892 at the tip to midway down the rod, but once you get towards the backbone of the rod it retains tons of power while being parabolic. I was tossing a 5/16 swimmer in 40 feet of water and was easily able to reel-set the hook into the smallies 👍

    What is your take on the IMX Pro 882 Nrr? How would you compare the power/tip as compared to the 902 NRX. I’d like to throw hair jigs(on the bottom), little spiders and the occasional spybait on it.

    • @JoeyDiCienzo
      @JoeyDiCienzo 11 месяцев назад

      The 882 is a fantastic rod for neds/neko, finesse jigs and swimbaits (3 to 4" class). To compare the 902s and 882s is tricky but doable: both are incredibly parabolic (902 especially), but the IMX blank is slightly more powerful towards the cork of the rod, making it great around cover. Tip wise, the IMX has a 'more noticeable' tip action since it's extra fast vs the NRX+ fast action. However, for the techniques you listed, I would lean towards the 902s NRX+: the parabolic nature of the blank makes landing fish on light line with trebles and finesse single hooks easy. Similarly, the quality of the NRX+ blank (spiral-x and high power-x tech) for anything deemed highly finesse makes the light bites much easier to detect. Sorry for the long response but I hope it helped Dennis!

      Really depends on what feel you want. The Exsence is the lightest of the 3, followed by the TP and then Stella. The drag on all of them is 20 lb maximum. The TP has the lowest gear ratio of the three at 5.3:1, the Stella comes in at 5.8:1, and the Exsence at 6.0:1. At this level, they are all incredible reels and you wont go wrong with either of them.
